Injury law in regards to the workplace will exist as a way to protect the employees of a particular business or industry. Aside from protecting the worker or employee him/herself, injury law is also implemented to protect the individual's job and wages as well. Injury law in the work place will most likely revolve around the issue of workman's compensation or disability issues.

However, injury law that applies to the workplace will vary from state to state in the United States. Each state will have different injury statutes and regulations, though generally will all deal with situations such as securing the injured party's pay or salary during the recovery period and making sure that the appropriate medical care is received.

Among the various injury law statutes in place, there are some that are specific to particular industries. An example would be the Black Lung Benefits Act, which is meant to provide for compensation to miners that have suffered injury and disease from black lung. The Federal Employment Liability Act has provisions that makes interstate railroads responsible for the all of the railroad worker's general safety and health.
